The Australian Volunteers Program took the initiative to expand the scope of their Indigenous volunteering programs and engaged the assistance of Akaltye to lead design of a new and expanded Indigenous volunteering program. The aim was to realise the Australian Volunteers Program’s aspiration to facilitate greater people-to-people links and increase the global awareness and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in development. Offering volunteering streams, the Indigenous Program will be able to attract a broader range of Indigenous volunteers. Tony Kiessler is proud to have led this project.
